I was browing Cgiboy accounts and came across this girl on a gyaru-sa page

Opinions guys?

I don't know about you lot but I think its raelly cute

She certainly pulls it off. She actually looks considerably better than a lot of the tanner manbas around lately.

even with the faint nose and cheek highlight
i immediately thought visual rock for some reason.. and not gal.

i did always like the honey colored tans best, so this isnt much different.

There is nothing VK about that picture. lol

She is cute. The pose makes it a bit difficult to really tell how she looks and is dressed.

oh her make is quite vkISH... either that or vk ripped off gal make...
either/or.. but it looks like some vk makeup i've seen b4.. just with different colors..

Um... Nooo.
Her make is very much Manba, right down to how the liner is applied and the application of the blue and white... Its just not as stark against pale skin.

And Gyaru is not a fashion / make category I'd be accusing other styles of having "ripped off". Being that most of the Gyaru style subsets are based off of pre-existing styles.

aw flawk it-- i cant find that tutorial image thingy i seen it in.

but anywayz== her maek-up has some visual make similarities
dare i say it-- even with the somewhat quarter moon black eyeliner/shadow on the lid.
even visual make-up has the white on the lower lids===
pretty much the color layout [i.e black taking up most space on the lid and two colors getting abit of the lid]
was taking the ck mae by storm.. the only thing is..
sometimes with visual make-- they'll either give it a funny wing on the end or bring the color from the lid around he black and under the black on the lower lid.
but everything like i said b4.. the faint nose and cheek highlight==it jus reminded me of visual.

but maybe thats also because there isnt much contrast going on?
her eyebrow looks really short with her make-up as well.,..
so that probably couldve thrown me off also.

well then not ripoff== but rather.. taken some inspiration or ideas from it. my post b4 might explain alil bit==cuz i cant find the image im talking about,
because visual make isnt always the same.. some use more normal and sweeter colors and technique with it than others...

I think you're confusing OK with VK... VK doesn't go with sweeter looks. OK, however, will bring in cutesy, sweet influences.

Editing to add: And even still, OK derives influence from Decora... Not Gyaru or Manba. And all of the make up traits you described... Are rather standard to older Manba styles. With the exception of the lack of a tan, the application looks exactly as is is displayed in my EGG flashback tutorial. Going to get the issue now...

Edit 2: Its Ranzuki 12/08. They replace blue with pink and lightened the liner with more current trend. But the older Tsubasa EGG tutorials do show liner and shadow applications such as the girl wears, with lighter cheek high lights. However, the stark cheek highlights are also a Gyaru thing and aren't very common with VK because Tanning isn't even big with VK. And the face paint / highlighting in Manba is largely for the contrast against tan skin or dark foundation rather than any real aesthetic value.

It looks okay...I don't know. Are you sure it's not the camera itself washing out her skin tone and making her look lighter? I'm not a big fan of manba make to begin with, but that's just me, so feel free to completely disregard my opinion.

I'm not seeing the VK reference, either. Usually it takes more than just makeup—meaning hair, clothing, accessories, etc.—to really call a look or not.

P.S. I had some trouble viewing the image initially. Maybe try uploading/hosting here on Ricoche rather than direct linking from the girl's profile page.
