Happie NUTS September 2009 Discussion

Happie Nuts Japan has released their Summer Trend Special issue for September 2009. The cover is pretty good but I'm looking forward to Happie Nuts spotlighting other gals in the near future. This I notice is a trend happening lately with Japanese Gal magazines. Once they find a popular gal, they tend to run with her on almost every cover. I know why they do this because it does attract and influence Japanese gals to buy the magazine. However, there are A LOT of nice fashion gals available for cover shoots and I think these magazines should take more risks. In a bad economy though, perhaps that is not such a good idea for conservative based management. Nonetheless, Happie Nuts has a nice issue on their hands this month and it's worth checking out. I also think Happie Nuts and Jelly are finding it hard to differentiate themselves. They are both released on the same day and they both have the same style of cover. Although many gals may understand the differences, at first glance I generally think they are more similar than different. Just my thoughts. Attached is the Cover, Back, and table of contents for the September 2009 issue of Happie Nuts Japan. I like the Back Jerry Girl ad which is cool too. Enjoy!

i agree that Hoshiaya is on the cover like TOO MUCH sometimes but this month it's because she's graduating from Nuts!

I wish they had given the cover to some of the other Nuts Mates who graduated this year too, or at least let them share the cover. Hoshiaya is the 4th one in just a few months to graduate!

Hoshiaya and Sanpay both seem to be going for a more "natural" look lately which doesn't really match gal style. I don't mean natural-looking makeup (which is sometimes actually very heavy!) but rather going without much makeup at all. They both seem to dislike wearing foundation, drawing in their eyebrows, etc.

Unfortunately, I think Hoshiaya leaving jus means that the cover will always be Kei or Saki and maybe sometimes Sayoko in the mix. I would love to see Eriko or Shizuka on the cover sometime in the future, but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Wasn't too impressed overall with this month's issue and the only reason I bought it was for the Hoshiaya graduation thing. I thought that Jelly actually did a better job this time in terms of contents/coordinates.

That picture of Hoshiaya on the mirror inside is absolutely stunning and I think they should have gone for something more to that effect for the cover shot.

I love Eriko! I liked her back in her POSSH! days, too. Let's hope they put her on the cover soon.

Last month's issue―the August issue―was good, despite the cover being sort of stale and boring. Nuts usually has really good covers, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the October issue brings. :333

i only really bought nuts caz i liked hoshiaya ...sad she is leaving....
